The devil's ploy is to appear holy. Planned Parenthood learned well from its leader.

Thank you Alan, for your own work and the work of all the Christians at STR. Your ministry is very helpful for those of us who involved in some outpost of Christian testimony in a difficult city.

I agree with most of what you've said, but it's incorrect to say that making something illegal will decrease it's instance. I mean look at drugs. A lot of drugs are illegal but it doesn't stop people from doing them. I think it depends on the issue.

But even if what you say is right, you are then for measures that decrease abortions. But based on you're intro, it seems as if you are for increased contraceptives.

I don't identify with either side either, because of the politics of it. I understand both sides, so I'm kind of in the middle of which by definition would make me Pro-Choice, but lets face it nobody likes abortions. So I think the conversation would go further if that was understood.

I acknowledge that Planed Parenthood has corruption and has a stake in abortions. But the basic idea of PP I do support. I support a clinic that provides sexual health information and services. So if you take out abortions from PP, you have a pretty respectable institution and think that's why pro-lifers shouldn't be trying to get rid of PP, just advocate for PP centers to take out their abortion programs.

There also the issue of sex education. People are so ignorant about their sexual health it's still surprising STD's aren't more prevalent. But sexual health shouldn't be a choice. Everyone is effected by everyone's health. Casual Sex is Human Nature. So Contraceptives with the knowledge of sexual health is a vastly more powerful weapon than just simply banning abortion. No to mention educating our youth on rape. So many teens are getting into rape cases an many of them are either getting away with it, or they just don't know that they are being raped.

Why would I want to prove that being pro-choice decreases abortion?
       – i would do this to convince the pro-life camp that going  with the pro-choice solution is a win-win situation. Who doesn't want to have a situation where two opposing views actually get what they both want?

What I would say Is that decrease in contraception use is not part of the pro life position so the argument fails

Thanks, Alan. Keep up the good work. Your videos and writing, and those of your STR team members, have been very helpful resources for me.

The challenge question assumes there is some level of abortion that is ok.

It's a clever tactic to ask the pro-choicer why they want to decrease the number of abortions, but the thinking appears to stop there. Never mind that the pro-choicer's only motivation might be to satisfy his critics and not because he/she thinks abortion is actually wrong. The argument also fails to recognize that attempts to ban behavior that, whether moral or immoral, people are strongly tied too, often results in little more than the behavior being performed in a more dangerous way. When abortion is/was illegal (depending on the country), more dangerous abortion techniques are implemented. Unless Alan doesn't really care about the issue and just wants to spout conservatism for its own sake, he should reconsider his argument.
