Do you support the idea of forgiving all student debt? Why or why not? And ultimately who do you think pays the bill? If we forgive all student debt, is there a victim in the equation? Who?

I went to an early college high school and changed my college major twice before I even graduated high school.

We are not responsible for someone else's bad decision especially if the got a bs degree like gender study's or a bachelors in social justice warrior.

How can college be called higher learning anymore. Seems to be Democrat voter mills.

Join the military and grow up a bit to find out what you want to do then use your military benefits to help with pursuit of your career whether via community college, trade schools. Be responsible for your debt like the rest of us. Research the institutions you are considering and the placement successes as well as the careers. no college debt when I graduated while serving in the military.

Bernie was supposed to be for the working class…so how is being a student " The right thing to do" ? We don't hear these students when they get a fat paid job, while I am stuck throwing garbage bags in a smelling truck.

The root of the problem started with the leftover Boomers and early Generation Xers – the ones who worked in the Financial Aid offices in colleges. They actually told, and probably still tell, new student FEMALES that they could get double the loans and grants if they could get pregnant and not marry. There needs to be an overhaul of the staff in all these financial aid offices in colleges and universities all across the nation. They ENCOURAGE a student to take loans instead of helping them find part time jobs. It's disgraceful what they tell people. I went into the University of Texas at Austin, and Austin Community College in the late 80's and early 90. That is the FIRST QUESTION EVERY ONE OF THEM ASKED ME. Are you pregnant? If you get pregnant you can get more loans. I told them if I get pregnant I can't go to school. I'd be a MOM and my child would come first. Asshole MORONS! So then they'd respond by said that I didn't have to keep the baby, just get an abortion after the loans came through. Of all the horrible ways to sell student loans. So unethical and AMORAL. They said that I should NOT marry the father, that would cut the loans by a third. Fuckers!!! THAT 'rubber meets the road' (and I mean rubber heads), financial aid officer, with any given student sitting on the other side, is the FUNDAMENTAL reason student debt is out of control now. Had my parents and my then boyfriend not steered me clear of those fucking vampires who knows how much debt I'd be stuck in. I'd be like the rest of the GenX'ers looking to fucking Bernie and Warren to bail me out with Tax Payer money while punishing all the kids who paid their way with part time jobs and savings/sacrificing, conscientious parents. I came out of HS with NO life skills. I'm thankful I had loving family and a wicked smart boyfriend who looked out for me. We should troll back and out every financial aid officer who said this to a female student. I was thoroughly offended. I managed to graduate with part time work and only $9,000 in student debt. My HUSBAND helped me pay that down. I obtained my second degree with NO LOANS. What a ripoff on both ends of that first university financial aid experience/deal at every rate gimmick. Between the financial aid offices and student loan banks, less quick thinking kids get buried by them – just going into a financial aid office at school is putting every new student at risk who attend them. It's PREDATORY STUDENT LENDING at the very least. The Universities should be paying off those debts and fire their financial aid people. They, not us, should pay for all that debt – it's their PARIAH lending practices that did this. I believe financial aid offices should be removed from the educational grounds as a bare minimum and they need oversight on every student that applies for a loan. It needs to be third party, with oversight, as a basic first start.

We should take away Bernie Sanders' money and property and then tell him where to live. Turds belong in the toilet.

Each school should have a tuition protection program.
They pay enough money they could set some aside for this.

Seriously! The number of students I came across at university that had attended all their time there with a history of switching degrees was unbelievable.

It doesn’t seem fair to compare the average debt for a 4 year college degree to the average debt for a 2 year trade school. Trade schools are inarguably less expensive (and a great option). Colleges can easily cost between $110 a credit hour to $500 a credit hour, making the range for debt much wider. Trades are also a lot more specific. There are only so many trades, versus endless possibilities for college degrees. In my mind, this makes the average job placement and starting salary for the college degree an unfair comparison.

You know something you have made Me realise watching this video. America has become so all inclusive we have forgotten what failure is. when you bailout big banks and big tech and airlines you leave no room for someone else to rise to the top and be number one. sometimes we need to let the ones that are going to go out of business let them go out of business we all need to relearn what it is to fail and struggle and have to make it cause sitting on top a mountain that only you can climb and no other can make their way up is obviously how we get people who feel their to big to fail and to important to be without
