Great advice! This approach is basically what we have been using at our church for the past four years. I have had the opportunity to begin teaching basic apologetics to a small group and leading them to make themselves available to the pastor and other members. If we come to a question we can't answer we share it among ourselves and help each other find the information we need.

You could be right.

I've only been in The House for the past 4-5 years. What brought me in was YEC apologetics. Since that time I've gone much more into BB based apologetics. I think there's a lot to be said for both sides.
Maybe, as Koukl might say, one of the primary reasons to apply apologetics is to train more Christians to be better thinkers, then debate the details.
If the question is – raise everybody up or not raise everybody up, I think it's probably better to raise everybody up.

The tragic thing is that anyone would have to convince a church to be interested in apologetics!
This continues to baffle me. How can you even preach without ever giving a reason why what you are preaching is factually, historically, objectively true?! Why would any audience believe anything you're saying?!

My church is interested, when I approached them, but I have a problem with the details which is they do not want to promote a young earth and are wishey-washey with evolution. I presented facts to support my beliefs and I also feel we should keep to the bible not public opinion. I have to approach them again with an outline but feel no desire to since they appear to be unwilling to yield to the Bible. What is your opinion?
