This is such trash. "God stepped into the world of evil and died himself". Im so sick of this ancient man-made lie that God is Jesus. All u billions of ppl that got duped by this man made lie that is not supported by scripture even once not only ruined Christianity, you also don't understand the true sacrifice and beauty and eternal justice by God sending His son, who had a fully seperate mind and conciousness and will from God, to decide the fate of mankind for himself. None of you will truly understand the man Jesus or our God until you recognize the difference between each of these individuals.

Q: How can Christians respond to the Problem of Evil?
A: You can't. If you think you can, then you don't understand it.

The consequences of evil was created by whom?

Your argument only pushes the problem back to the creator. If God made mankind and mankind is committing evil acts, then isn't God indirectly responsible for the evils of his creation? I would never worship a being that is responsible for so much evil. God is NOT deserving of my trust, faith or worship.

The problem of evil is the question of how to reconcile the existence of evil and suffering with an omnipotent, omnibenevolent, and omniscient God. The first known presentation was from the Greek philosopher Epicurus. Here is the quick version as a flow chart: https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-d56572dfa06778649163ad4910361bd0
The argument was made popular by David Hume: "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil?"

The devil has NO AYTHORITY ON MAN just like on Adam and Eve! They did not have to eat the apple. They eat the apple beause they wanted to . They wanted to be god like God is! THey eat the apple on their own free will. The devil is only allwoed to be present in the lives of men and women as "the other option" he is not allwed in any way to force man to sin! Demons are present in our lives works by proviting logismous.
    Logismoi-Urgings
God is a person because He is known to talk to people like Moses and His Saints PERSON to person. Like wise the devil and his demons are considered to be persons because they are also known to talk/wisper to people person to person.
    THE INVISIBLE WAR ~LOGISMOI~
Logismoi= Urgings Successions TO COMMIT SIN coming from demons.
Logismoi are Urgings or Successions leading man to SIN coming from demons. Demons are only authorized by God to approach man with urgings or successions and they “whisper” these based on their knowledge of the weaknesses of each and every person however they are not allowed by God to force someone to act upon these. A very simple example of the way this works is for a demon to whisper to an alcoholic to “lets go have a drink and forget about this miserable world “ hoping to collect his soul from an accident while driving drunk back home from the bar! Adam and Ever were not forced to eat the apple. They eat the apple because they wanted to. Their ambition was born from their ungratefulness from wanting to become a god like God is! The devil sowed the seed (logismos) and just waited!
The deadliest of dangers that continuously impose a threat to the eternal welfare of human beings/souls is the fact that these urgings are unknown to man kind and when confronted they are not rejected, but they are “taken” very lightly allowing them to slowly root in the heart. Someone who commits murder or steal for instance….thinks about it for a long time first! Urgings are only rejected by those who in their lives were taught by their parents in one way or another to up keep their conscience law. According to the Holy Fathers the ~conscience~ is known to be ~the mind of our minds~ and it is a gift from God that assures that GODS WILL is present with in our hearts without ever depriving man his greatest gift which is his freedom.
These demonic urgings/successions (logismoi in Greek) can only be recognized as dangerous and harmful to the soul Baptized an Greek Orthodox Christian who know that ~in their spiritual life~ they need to acquire the morality of Christ (all virtues] for Salvation in order to ATTRACT the Grace of God who is going to lead them to His Heavenly Kingdom
To the person that was never introduced into “the body the Church” (Baptized) as delivered by the Holy Spirit 2000 years ago, there is no awareness that Salvation is all about retaining the PURITY OF THE HEART begotten at Baptism and not the KNOWLEDGE of the Holy Bible. They are not aware of the purity of the heart needed for Salvation therefor evil successions (logismoi) are received in their minds and hearts just like another common thought and not something evil that needs to be eliminated from the mind and the heart continuesly. [Mathew5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”. The Holy Fathers of the Greek Othodox Church teach that the way to confront demonic urgins is to see them coming like we see airplanes coming from in a distance. We are taught to ~never let them land~!
    BAPTISM
The Sacrament of the Holy Baptism is the Mystery through which man becomes a living member of the Body of Christ. Through Baptism Jesus Christ Himself reshapes and makes man partaker of a divine nature. It signifies the beginning of a potential dynamic process in one’s path toward the Kingdom of God. Baptism introduces people to the place of their Salvation that is the Ecclesia (Church) and grands them the right to participate to all the other Holy Sacraments. The Holy Baptism is also known as the Holy Sacrament of Rebirth. The purpose of Holy Baptism is to remove the consequences of the original sin and ALL other sins is to allow a person to become a vessel of the Holy Spirit (Saint) to become a member of His Holy Body. This is why during Baptism the priest calls upon the sponsor to renounce the devil and all of his works. During Baptism a person receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit however it is up to each and every individual to energize them or set them in motion at will based on their greatest gift from God which is their freedom. During Baptism a person receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit however it is up to each and every individual to energize them or set them in motion at will based on their greatest gift from God which is their freedom.
CONFESSION : keeping the sin free condition begotten at Baptism. Confession [John 20:23] "Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained".
After the Holy Sacrament of Holy Baptism the Holy Sacrament of Confession is known as the SECOND BAPTISM because it keeps the "free from sin condition of the heart begoten at Baptism enabling the Holy Spirit to continuesly "remake man to godman" for man's completion/theosis needed in order to return to the presence of God! [Mathew5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”
Without Lord Jesus/God Logos being “the head of the body the Church, life after death will meet the same after life conditions as before the coming of Lord Jesus and the creation of His Church where there was no hope no Salvation!
Logismoi (the urgings of the devil) are fought off with continues prayer. Continues prayer guarantees the Grace of God to be attracted by the monk none stop resulting to the knowing of God personally!

    This doesn't explain two things:
    a) Why are there natural evils? Why can an innocent child die of cancer before it was able to make any choices due to his/her free will? Why do animals suffer in forest fires, tornadoes, floods? They were innocent and had no free will? Why do they suffer?
    b) If free will is necessary for some 'greater good', what is heaven? Is there no free will in heaven? Then how is it good? Is there free will but is it still perfect with no suffering? Then free will is not 'greater good'.

Good job on this video Mary Jo Sharp. I am a Christian and grew up on the wrong side of Truth. I can relate very well with skeptics and sincere seekers. This message is well crafted and nicely framed. If I had of heard this years ago, it would have def satisfied me. Lord Bless you.

Your response is abrupt and incomplete from the perspective of the unbeliever. Yes Christ died on the cross and took upon himself the sim of mankind. For the individual the solution is in the resurrection of Jesus Christ  if, and only if, we accept Him. This is the unmerited and undeserved grace and is not fulfilled at the cross unless it becomes real in the life of an unbeliever. The cross is not the end as much as it is the gateway to life everlasting for those who believe.

So your answer to the palpable overwhelming presence and "problem " of evil is to reach for a resurrection story that has not convinced skeptical minds and was probably borrowed from surrounding cultures and a creation story that is mythological on its surface and clearly borrowed from other religions and communities? This is your answer?? Seriously? And you wonder why people don't believe this story…
