In many states in our country (USA) the legalization of marijuana is becoming “the law of the land” so are we as Christians supposed to start thinking that this is OK because now it’s lawful to consume it? Watch Frank deliver a quick one-two punch answer to this question!

Ten seconds in and you’ve already confused me. Getting “drunk with weed” makes no sense.

Being drunk and high are two entirely different sensations each with their own effects. But I suppose someone who hasn’t done either in their life wouldn’t know that.
The Bible NEVER says anything against getting high. Only against getting drunk.

And for those who want to quote the verse about being of sober mind allow me to remind you.

    Soberminded =/= sober
That verse is simply telling you to stay alert (Sober as in clear headed, not sober as in not drunk) It has absolutely nothing to do with what substances you intake. If you’ve ever been high you’d know that it actually has the opposite effect of being drunk. Being drunk makes you numb, being high actually heightens your senses. In a way, it’s actually making you more sober-minded, yes?

Also, it should be mentioned that the catholic church at one point actually used marijuana for incense before mass. They stopped using it once people starting complaining and crying the “weed bad” narrative.

I personally think its about balance, how much marijuana you consume, when you do it, and who you do it around that makes it sinful, when u make the marijuana the priority over god that to me is sinful its also important who you choose to smoke with because certain people give off different energy that could u impact you in a negative way , thats where the anxiety and negative thoughts come in but if you do it with people you trust and are good people and your not taking an absurd amount where your overly intoxicated thats when the problem comes in because your not all there in the mind

The law is written on our hearts. If you have to ask ‘is it wrong’……it might be wrong.

Wouldn't the purpose of Alcohol be the same though? Nobody would drink alcohol if it did not provide a mind altering side effect. A

But the bible also enjoys the wine but do not be a fool, 1 spliff does a lot less to someone than a large glass of red wine?

And he used a false equivalency fallacy comparing alcohol drunkenness (its called spirits for a reason) to weed…

Does the bible mention anything wring with smoking weed? I don't think so… It does mention drunkenness is wickedness though…
And doesn't the bible say that the Creator gave all seed bearing plants and herbs to use in Genesis 1:29?

I smoke weed all the time. Great for my insomnia, I'm an avid overthinker so sometimes it helps me to relax, And its good for my sex drive ( yes I'm married). Let's say u 2 had a reason, then You gotta ask yourself: would it be a sin if i took a drug prescribed by my dr to help me deal with this issue?
I think a herb that God created beats anything from a pharmacy in this case.
Now if you just want to be a lazy stoner type party person? Then you probably should abstain. Sex was also created by God for people to enjoy and procreate, but it too can become a sin if used wrong.

Marijuana does not inebriate you unless that is your purpose for it, just like with alcohol, or any substance.

I would highly advise all believers to not use weed. Not even "medical". I got seriously addicted to "medical" weed.

1️⃣ Weed (even "medical") doesn't really cure anything. It numbs you out or temporarily makes the pain (physical, mental or emotional) go away. But it doesn't solve the underlying problem. This is why it's so easy to get addicted: you constantly need to make the symptoms go away. This is coping, not curing.

It's exactly like the concept of drinking your problems away: it's not really possible. You just feel good in the moment. Then reality comes back

2️⃣ Not only deep weed not cute my depression and anxiety, it actually increased both significantly

3️⃣ While it's not intoxicating, CBD (the kind people use for medical) is psychoactive

4️⃣ As a whole, the medical system is a joke. At least in Maryland.
    1) Doctors get commission for prescribing cards. So, this gives an intensive to prescribe cards. So, almost anyone can get one who has any type of pain or issue. The medical system does not care about your well-being. They want your money.

    2) The only time you ever see an actual doctor is when you get the card. Workers at dispensaries are not 100% not doctors and are 100% not health professionals. So, when you go to dispensary workers with an issue and you ask what kind would be best for you, you'll get, "Well, I've used xyz for that and it helped me" or "People have told me abc is good for that issue". Unlike actual medicine, there's no standard on what gets recommended. You don't even need to tell the workers your issue. You can get whatever. This is not how real medicine works.

    3) 90+% of the stuff in shops are pure THC (the intoxicating kind), not CBD (what ppl use for medical)

There's tons of verses in The Word discussing drunknessess. The same applies to intoxication from weed.

If you have an actual medical issue, I highly suggest you ask God how He wants you to handle it.

Funny how the one subject i disagree with you on is the one you have no scripture to back up with. I just wanted to say that i found god through psychedelic drugs, albeit mainly through Magic mushrooms, though weed defiantly played a part to help me get a better view on the world/ God.

Genesis 1:29, NIV: "Then God said, 'I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."

You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.

    Yes.
God said, "See, I give you every seed-bearing plant that is upon all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit; they shall be yours for food

    And no.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

    Genesis 1:29-30
    New International Version
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
