Peter's teaching is DEFINITELY the power and truth of the HOLY SPIRIT! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH AND UNDERSTAND THE THEME OF LOVE! LOVE CONQUERS ALL! ALSO, its so beautiful and amazing how the people who suffered the MOST and treated the worst, become GOD'S CHOSEN! LOVE IT!! THESE TEACHINGS STAND THE TEST OF TIME BECAUSE PETER IS GUIDED AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, IN WHICH IS THE TRUTH, THE WAY AND THE LIGHT. AND ALWAYS WILL BE FOREVER AND EVER……….TIMELESS. PRAISE GOD, THANK U JESUS

Lol I made it 33 seconds in and had to pause to kind of chuckle to myself… so Peters real name is Simon. Jesus later called him the name Rock but some others retranslated Rock into Peter.. so.. his name was never really Peter! It’s like being called Great firewing in Chinese but we translate that to Greg lol !!

I almost didn't click on this video because of its cartoonish nature I thought it was more geared to children. So glad I clicked!

This is WRONG, BAPTISM DOESN'T VINDICATE, DOESN'T SAVE, SALVATION IS NOT BY WORKS, SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CRIMINAL DYING NEXT TO JESUS!

So many of the earlier posts made me cry with joyous compassion I had to stop reading them several times and then continue. BibleProject has a wonderful platform going and I hope God continues to bless the work and the followers.

So this is the theology of replacement. Go turned away from Jews the killers of Christ in favor of the Romans . The real bible scholars do not believe Peter wrote this letter for many reasons not the least of which is that Christianity in the decades after Jesus' was considered a sect of Judaism is. A Jewish messiah in the center of Jewish culture with twelve Jewish followers crucified a Roman execution, carried out by Romans. So the timeline for this letter was much later when Christians were actually persecuted. I guess it should be remembered that this replacement theology led to persecution of Jews that went well beyond any persecution of Christians. It worked. Jews were driven not quite to extinction but close. Thank you Jesus.

The Gospel of salvation of our souls: 💜💕💖✨💖❤️📖✝️🕎💡💡❤️❤️💞💜💕For what I received I passed on to you as of [first importance]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.  After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time,

Actually, there is evidence that the Babylon that is referred to in 1st Peter is actually the city Babylon. The city still existed at the time of Peter’s writing this epistle. It was still a large city with a significant Jewish population. As Dr. Henry Morris said in his commentary, “The recipients of of Peter’s letter lived geographically closer to Babylon than Rome, so it would have been quite confusing to these readers if Peter had meant Rome when he said Babylon.” This is an issue most commentaries ignore when insisting that Peter meant Rome.

Tradition says Peter was crucified upside down in Rome. So I get where BP may think Peter was in Rome and called Rome Babylon. I would remind BP that actual Babylon (located in Iraq) was still an area with a large Jewish population from the Diaspora. If you recall from Jeremiah to Ezra's days, the Jews were taken to Babylon as part of God's judgment and when Cyrus said they could go home, only a small fraction actually went back to Israel/Jerusalem. Most stayed in Babylon. We know from Galatians 2:8 Peter was the apostle to the Jews. It makes more sense to think Peter traveled to the Diaspora in Babylon (Iraq) to do the ministry of an apostle than it does to think he went to Rome and called Rome Babylon. After all, he has the Diaspora on his mind in verse 1! This letter is definitely written to the Christian Jew, though us gentiles can embrace what Peter wrote.

The problem I have with these videos is they say a lot of things as “facts” when in reality they are unknown.
For example: When Peter said he was writing from Babylon. It is actually a fact that no one knows exactly where he was referring to. Rome is one theory. The actual Babylon is another theory. Some think it was from Jerusalem.
But they say it as a fact that he was writing from Rome without any hard evidence.
So in reality what they are pushing is a doctrinal perspective, but they do not let their viewers know that.

Are you a good person? Let’s look at some of the Ten Commandments to see! Have you ever stolen? (Even if it’s something really small or not worth much) Have you ever lied? Or have you ever looked with lust? Now, have you ever taken the Lords Name in vain? Have you ever hated someone? If you’ve ever done any of those things, you would be either a liar, a thief, an adulterer,(for looking with lust. See Matthew 5:28), a blasphemer(for taking Gods Name in vain), a murderer (for hating someone. See 1 John 3:15) or maybe even all of them. And that was only 5 of the Ten Commandments. Therefore we have all sinned against God and therefore deserve death.(Romans 3:23 & 6:23)That’s why ~2000 years ago a Savior was sent; Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world and then He rose 3 days later. Through His sacrifice He Paid The Fine for our sins, and made Atonement for the sins of the world. Now we can be made new by accepting His Free Gift of Salvation. In order to accept This Free Gift, we must first Repent. This is a change of mind about sin (from an embrace of sin to rejection of sin) and a Turning to God.
Once you Repent, you can then turn to TRUST in the Savior. A person who has truly Repented of their sin and has Trust in Christ will give evidence of a changed life. Therefore, as a Result of Salvation you’ll then produce Good Works and the Fruit of Salvation. (Reading the Word and Obeying It, Acts of Kindness, readiness to help, to serve, to give of oneself, The Fruits of the Spirit, etc.) You aren’t saved by doing Good Works, but you can then produce Good Works once you are Saved.
