Watch our overview video on the book of Ecclesiastes, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. This book forces us to face death and random chance, and the challenges they pose to a naive belief in God’s goodness.

Wow this was great! What is our purpose? No one is going to remember us 100 years after we die. Time will eventually erase you, me, and all we care about – Ecclesiastes

Summary: eat, drink, and be merry – for we are all dust at the end of the day and everyone ends up in the same place 🙂 Cheers!

As someone who’s lukewarm, God sent me here to this vid and I have no regrets. Just a reminder to listen to God when he speaks to you

If GOD offered a horrid death to a good man let it be known , he has done so to clear out hes remaining sins that darkened he’s soul! This way he gets to be accepted and not be delayed into admission if possible to say so for your minds to understand, because you see when a soul spends its time to earn earn and earn , when you get to go you will smell very bad , bad like onions bad rotten , compared to that place , you’ve basically been sat through rotten onions compared to that place , and once you got there it’s said in my culture that you will spend at least 30 more days in the ground before even rising up to the first gate! So … just be careful I wish to see you all up there one day!

If it wasn’t for you to teach me the Hebrew definitions like Hevel I wouldn’t of obtained my faith again! I know life isn’t meaningless or life is vanity it’s Hevel Hevel Hevel yet the Bible’s printed today have so many miss understood definitions of Hebrew words. If you can understand the Hebrew definitions rather than the evil Catholic translations and teachings you’ll understand the true meaning of the scriptures!

What makes this book so great to me is that I actually panicked quite a bit over the topic of why we’re on earth and if everything we do is vain what’s the point and I didn’t even realize there was an entire part of the Bible dedicated to this specific form of nihilism.

I play with my grandson, it and he is a gift from God. I go on park vacations with my wife and it is a gift from God. I am picking up my daughter inlaw from the airport, she is a gift from God.

I tend to believe the teacher is King Solomon. He's clearly disillusioned after pursuing everything life has to offer, and going against God's commands, and now he's paying the price.

Combine the words "heaven" and "hell" and the mash up sound like hevel

When things are in "upheaval" they are in 'chaos' (energy)

I love this book. It proves at one point that we always change. But God does not. I think that is awesome

Yesterday I was thinking about taking my own life because I feel overwhelmed with life. I feel stressed and sad and so many emotions. I’m a good person and people have treated me so badly and I don’t understand why. I prayed my way though my suicidal thoughts and Jesus comforted me and I fell asleep. I’m glad I’m still here and I’m glad I found this video to help me work though these feelings and understand like and death a little more.

This may be my favorite illustration/illumination in the series so far. Thank you again for creating these marriages of drawing and Scripture to help better explain some of the things we may miss by reading alone.

because this book equates folly with madness/ who agrees with me it should be compulsory for worldly NO FEAR OF GOD psychiatrists to have to study it?/wisdom is sacred supernatural heavenly minded health/what is from flesh is flesh/what is from spirit is spirit/what is from below is below and what is from above is above/ and two are contrary and completely incompatible with each other/ one will certainly kill the other therefore you cannot serve TWO MASTERS

Sometimes good people dying is not a bad thing if they die believing Jesus they are going to heaven. Imagine if on the brink of death you see a piece of paradise would you hang on to life or give up the ghost. Bad people living longer is God's mercy giving them more time to get right with Him through Jesus.

I love all your videos and really enjoy watching them. You guys do amazing work and really bring a better understanding of the Bible to me. I know I'll get lots of down votes for this next comment, but that's okay because I think it's important (as a technical editor, it's my job and I just want to help). When words are misspelled, people tend to believe less that something that is written is true. I don't want a simple misspelling to be a stumbling block to someone, so in that vein and if possible, please correct the word "decendent" to "descendant." Thanks!

Discovering the wisdom books have taken initiative for me to move forward. Being in a dark place for a while, these books (Ecclesiastes) specifically, has made me sob like a child. Love god, as he is the only one that can guide us.
