Watch our overview video on the book of Esther, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. In Esther, God providentially uses two exiled Israelites to rescue His people from certain doom, without any explicit mention of God or His activity.

Video edit: Esther and Mordecai were cousins, not niece and uncle as was mentioned in this video.

The books of Ezra Nehemiah and especially Esther have me so triggered for obvious reasons first of all I'm black second of all I'm Jewish well I'm supposed to be Jewish the reason why I am not Jewish is because of zerubel and Ezra practically initiating the matrilineal lineage the only reason they have the matrilineal lineage in Judaism is to get rid of black people because half of the patriillennials are black there's no offense or buts about it it's racist if you go back to Jim Crow and the antebellum South they actually use matrilineal lineage as a tool to see how black or white you were you weren't considered white unless your mother was white so now here we are in the 21st century and you have all of these Jews from Ethiopia airtrea even Jews in West Africa anywhere with someone you should today is them they can't get in and they can't get Israeli citizenship without so much hassle to the point they give up all of this is because of Ezra Nehemiah and Esther let me give you more context that will even piss you off more and answer any of Maya cerebral Ezra and eventually Nehemiah make all of these claims about how you shouldn't be married to a foreigner how you shouldn't be married to the women of the land they actually made them in divorce their wives all of that gets thrown out the window when you get to the book of Esther in the book of Esther the whole story is about a woman and her hypergamy being allowed to marry a foreigner the king of the Persians they literally just forgot and like the Jews today with all these black Jews trying to get inside of Israel they cannot they don't forget and they say you are not Jewish why because your mother was in Jewish or you're just black

It’s krazy I was feeling like God hasn’t been moving as much in my life and how I been feeling so stagnant and he’s been leading me to read Esther! I just finished it tonight and it’s a beautiful story sharing lessons of hope and faith when God feels absent…. He also led me to psalm 60 with David and the Israelites going from defeat to victory! So I see what God is telling me! Through the silence or even through the times it feels like he’s not there, to still trust in him and continue to seek him through everything!

I just realized that Haman is like an evil Joseph, abusing his power and demanding he be served, rather than serving others and being just, while Esther and Mordecai are like two righteous parallels to Joseph. Esther a gentle but wise spirit, and Mordecai loyal to the king and his people. Both were second only to the king, and given royal authority on his behalf.

And just like a paradox – today we see disposable souls like Hayman given positions of power and grandeur – people are dumbfounded as to why they are being allowed to attempt to usher in global control over whose life and bloodline is to be saved…. By haman holding the position of power his plans were exposed. As were mordecais good deeds… Never interfere with the enemy when they are busy destroying themselves!
    Keep the Faith.

Is the literary mirroring in this book considered chiasmus?

Interesting lesson, how often is God moving in our lives even though His presence seems absent.

There is no verse or chapter is the book of Ruth, that mentions SEX, so don't over exaggerate the book, keep it simple for everyone to understand.

So this Haman guy hates Jewish people and he wants to kill them. He then rolls dice and says Jewish people will be killed in…11 months?
Yeah, I hate these people and I want to kill them so I'll wait 11 months to kill them.

It was not just a beauty pageant Esther entered. The new ruling people, by the king's decree went in and just TOOK all of the beautiful virgins from each conquered region. It was hardly Esther's choice to marry the mad king.

Esther & Mordecai are far more blameless in the story I remember than your conclusion puts them to be.

Glad you have a good moral conclusion that is right.

I’m not sure why but the story of Esther reminds me both of the story of Moses & of the story of Joseph.
Because Esther became elevated to a high position, where she had a powerful influence that helped save her people from being wiped out or continually subjugated.

GREAT VIDEO!!! I learnt that (Mordecai an Esther) named the feast AFTER what was used against them ('Pur'- rim). And that God's name being 'absent' in the book means the author wants us to realise that it might seem God is absent and not working, but He is ALWAYS at work.

Can I just say, in my Bible (ICB, I'm 14 and have had this book for ages, I want a new Bible but just bare with me init) it says that Haman was hanged. But in you said that he was put on a stake… What's up with that?

So far there are two books of the Bible where God is not mentioned and both are named for women (Ruth and Esther).
    What's up with that?

I don't understand why you mentioned "a lot of sex" in this video. I read the book of Esther twice over and did not see this at all.
