Do Christians pick and choose what laws to obey? STR’s Tim Barnett uses his @Red Pen Logic to respond to the objection, “Christians say homosexuality is a sin, but ignore the other laws found in the Bible.”

Shouldn’t you still think for yourself? What is wrong with homosexuality? Please answers without religious books or opinions, facts only please.

She took the Barack Obama approach. Let’s site OT covenant stuff at Christians. This lady and Obama show that they do not pay attention to context. Thank you sir for presenting this.

The Sabbath mentioned in the 10 commandements……. do Christians under the new convenant still keep that one ?

What about the 7th-day Sabbath commandant that is the fourth one in the moral law? Why do we Christians ignore that one? That's seems picky and choosy to me.

So group A doesn't get to eat, drink, smoke, cuss, and better be in church on Saturday then rest the entire day. Group B can eat, drink, smoke, cuss even have ham, bacon and eggs – especially right after church on Sunday. Then go to the game, or go shopping, or home to catch up on all those chores.
One God, One Word, One Church. Yet we have two groups doing it thousands of different ways and days based on this One Word – now that's illogical.

Red Pen logic has describe a God who has His Jewish children playing in the backyard safely behind fences/rules. While God's Gentile children get to play in the streets or where ever they want.

If you looked at it as One God, One Savior, One Word and One Body; how does all this 'One-ness' get divided in two?
It's kind of an illogical 'faith', to tell the first group " no shrimp, lobster, or honey baked ham for you". Group two, " you can eat delicious shrimp and lobster, ham and especially bbq pork – oh so delicious". That logic makes it sound like one group is less than another and doesn't seem very loving. One group gets to have more fun just based on birth – huh?!, not logical.

You'll never understand what she is trying to say unless you are willing to do an external critique Of your world deal.

Try Outsider test of faith. The principle of charity. Straw man doesn't help. Instead you steal Manning.

Otherwise you're just talking to people that agree with you already

Stop trying to be so smug against someone that has a valid point of how SOME Christians cherry pick things about the Bible that promote their beliefs. Also look up Hebrews 4:9-12, your whole thesis falls apart with that one verse in the New Testament about keeping the Sabbath. Does that mean we are all sinners and those who worship on Sabbath are doing it right? I’ve battled with this for years…

The Bible does not say eating pork is a sin!!!! You liars. I IS a health law. All the way into the New Testament. God does Not accept/receive ALL unclean meats from the land rivers and oceans

And Yes being gay transgender bullshit IS a sin. We are allowed to Discern the sin not judge. God is the only judge

So I would really like to see stand to reason have a conversation with Dr. Michael Heiser. He goes further in depth about where some of the mosaic law comes from.

The girl in the video, is not apathetic to the bible and God or she wouldn't bother. She is a potential Christian. I pray she finds the lord.

I wanna add one more comment to this young lady. You know we as Christians must love those like Christ loved us. Love is kind, patient and long suffering. God has mercy. Just as stephen didn't cast a charge against those who stoned him, so too, we as the body must love those who offend. Truly, I'm glad she dabbled on this topic, because this young lady doesn't know that she dug into the word and it has life, life even to renew her. And as the body let us use love always to disarm those use the gospel contrary.

Hi Brother! Loved your video, but now I have a question. Please I would love if you would help me understand better. What is moral law and how can we as Christians decipher it? I'm genuinely intrigued by what you said but… is it we follow the moral law only in the new testament and the old testament is unfollowed?

What about the Timothy part though – isn't that quite in the new Testament? And doesn't Jesus state at various points that the old laws are to be followed still?

Were gonna see more & more of these absolutely horrific vids from people w/ no basic biblical understanding, as well many that commit scrip-torture to try to prove their imposed view. Pray they step out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ

90% of all atheist arguments against God can be summed up with: “There is no God, and I hate him.”

So angry and so lacking very basic understanding of what a New Testament Christ follower means. I suspect she has no interest in learning. She wants to believe what she wants and do what she wants to do. Ok, neither God nor Christians will keep you from that. We do not want you to ruin your life but it is your choice.

Christians DO cut and paste. One more neutral example: You tithe, right? The bible tells you to. But it ACTUALLY tells you to tithe 3 tithes: Your 10% increase (emphasis on the increase, if you have 200 cows that have 10 babies, you don't tithe 21 cows. You tithe 1. But I know you guys can't do math since you think there are three days and three nights between Friday night and Sunday dawn.) AND there's the feast tithe: Gather a tithe of your increase to carry with you to the feast of Tabernacles either literally or convert it to money to spend on a party. (Oh, that's right! That's one of those things you CUT.) And then there's the third-year tithe for widows and orphans. A tithe for three years is to be given to widows and orphans. You evidently CUT THAT. You have carefully selected those things you don't like or are too Jewish for you. Compare your never-ending devotion to John 3:16, which was said to ONE OLD JEWISH GUY in the middle of the night. But that's now incorporated as doctrine. Whereas "Go and sell all and give to the poor" was told to ONE YOUNG JEWISH GUY (who I think was Paul) and that one is suddenly "contextual." And it goes on and on and on. Do yourselves a favor and take an HONEST look at what you're believing, for one minute.

Christians need to explain this point more often because I went to church on and off my entire life and didn't understand this point until rather recently. It's probably the biggest aspect that hindered my faith.

These atheist/agnostics think they made a point with cursing but instead made themselves look willingly ignorant. Why do they rage so much against the God they say doesn’t exist? Romans 1:18-32 has my answer.

Also, just because Christians don’t follow all of God’s commands perfectly doesn’t mean that the commands are wrong. The One giving the commands was God. Christians not following some commands written in the Bible doesn’t make homosexuality right. The logic behind her argument doesn’t make sense.

So Christians shouldn’t follow the 10 Commandments because they are not in the New Testament?

I believe the dietary laws are for our benefit regarding health. I also believe the law is spiritual and has to be spiritually discerned, for example, don't sow diverse seeds in your field, interpretation, Matt 13, don't sow diverse doctrines into the doctrine of God. Disregard the law, disregard understanding of God's ways
