How do some people hear β€œShare out of the goodness of your heart” and translate that to mean, enforced socialism is biblical. It’s not. Frank explains why in this quick video.

Acts 2:43 and acts 4:32 to acts 5:11 if you can read that with a straight face and tell me that God and the early church was Pro private property you're not only blind but intentionally foolish.

Jesus advocated charity. Socialism is the government mandating a redistribution of wealth, which ultimately leads to less wealth to redistribute, and the failure of that system. As Margaret Thatcher said, "the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." Take someone's increase for a couple of years, and they will get the message that working so hard is not worth the trouble if you can't have it, so less work occurs and less economic advancement then leads to decline.

"Socialismo o Muerte: Venceremos, Patria o Muerte: Venceremos." They pretty much GLOAT about going to Hell in the name of Socialism. Is obvious when you look at it in Biblical Terms.

β€œJesus was a socialist!” Yeah? Because he said everyone is equal in moral worth and that you should be nice to everyone? That’s not socialism… idiots. It always amazes me how atheist socialists understand very little about theology or socialism.

The Bible may not necessarily be pro socialism but it is certainly anti-capitalism. Capitalism is driven by profit (the love of money) which the Bible clearly says is the root of all evil.

If Ananias and Sapphira had told the apostles up front that they kept back part of the sale price of the property, do you think that they would have been spared?

Seems like some are trying to use the Bible to justify socialism/communism.

The Bible doesn't not comment on either capitalism or socialism. Both systems were developed over 1,600 years after Jesus' death. The idea of Jesus as a conservative Republican is beyond absurd and shows a lack of critical thinking on Turek's part.

Also, socialism isn't "what the government does"- that shows a fundamental misunderstanding of socialism akin to that of Glenn Beck. There are several forms of socialism that involve no centralised organisation such as anarchism.

Finally, "thou shalt not steal" is a principle that is not entirely absent from socialism. Some socialists do advocate limited private property but, ultimately, there is a distinction made in Marxist thought between private and personal property. The former is considered theft via capital but the latter would be subject to the imperative of not stealing.

What's truly sad is I can show this to my progressive "Christian" friend, and it have no affect on him. It's truly a disgusting, and vile religion that brings only spiritual death.

WHITE CHRISTIAN AMERICA, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ON THE BENEFITTING SIDE OF SLAVERY, IMPERIALISM,WAR,TERROR and any Subjugation , racism , bigotry against humans you can think of, hence their wacky conclusions.!! Jesus is against money lovers, who suppress , exploit & kill for money which is what America has and is doing, Which is also what some forms of capitalism does etc, thats what Jesus is against but the White American Christian mind only thinks its all about private property

I wish you wouldve talked about socialism in more depth. There are different types of socialism. Some types, like the one you talked about eliminate private property and the government equally distributes wealth. But not all types of socialism eliminates private property nor has a government that dqually distributes wealth, or is even centered around having a very centralized government. For example, in market socialism, you can have private property but the means of production is socially owned through worker cooperatives. The goal of it is to have no businesses just worker coops, there is disagreement on whether businesses should be allowed though. Some forms of democratic socialism dont get rid of private property too. Really the thing that ties all socialism together is that they all want the means of production to be socially owned in some way. If market socialism was implemented, everyone who works at walmart would be the boss of walmart, perhaps through having a democratic process where they can vote on decisions that need to be made. Basically everyone would be their own boss because the democracy they have in the workplace. As you see this form of socialism doesnt center around the government doing everything, and people can still own their own house and buy their cars, and their own private island of they want. It wouldve been nice to hear your perspective on some of those forms.

Ideally if you are hoarding any amount of wealth, then you are not devoting yourself to any God. Rich people should not exist in a socirty that claims to follow god. A god would not value wealth, and much less so If that wealth was not being used for the betterment of his people.

The Bible isn’t socialist or capitalist or pro-specific economic structure, the Bible is pro-kingdom of God and anti-Babylon/governmental injustice/any sort of government or economic structure that takes advantage of, to use the language of the Hebrew Bible, the orphan, the widow, the sojourner, and the poor. It annoys me just as much when people try to claim the Bible is capitalist as it does when they try to claim the Bible is socialist.

So many of the commenters have a false view of what socialism and capitalism are. First off those Scandinavian countries people like to cite are NOT socialist. They are mixed with capitalism and a high tax WELFARE STATE. Secondly, capitalism is nothing more than 2 people making a trade of some service or product and the seller makes a profit through doing so. Anything else you cite, greed what have you.. it false. The whole motivation towards socialism is a false concept that somehow it is "fair". These people need to research how the "new deal" worked in the US where the government was largely regulating production (minus owning the company itself) and controlling wages and prices.. It made a HUGE mess and actually led to the health care insurance mess we have now. The only way good employees could be retained was not through raises but through benefits.. There is a lot of younger people who have been falsely taught with revisionist books and from teachers who get a biased false version of both. I suggest backing off and learning the historical real versions from ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL. Not revisionist history. The big lie is that socialism just hasn't been tried here. Well that is false because on varying scales it has. Quit being sucked in to the lie that somehow someone being more wealthy than you must have achieved it through nefarious means and that you have to MAKE IT FAIR.. well life isn't fair and YOU being consumed by the envy of what someone else has via greed or what have you, it is NOT YOUR JOB to try and equalize things via government or church. "Free to Choose" is an excellent book. "Road to Serfdom" is also a classic and shows how your utopian dreams just change your government into a lord.. elected or not who gets most of the fruits of your labor rather than you. And there is no room for God in socialist societies. You are free to move your church to some little town and try out a commune and see how it works out.. Pretty soon the same thing will happen, you run out of the wealthy peoples money, dry up the free market jobs and the lazy people run you bankrupt. Every time. And if you decide some committee should run things? Yea that didn't work out either. Your utopia will not arrive until after Christ returns so you should be worrying about salvation and not how much money Bill Gates has.. guess what, just because he made all that money.. doesn't cause you to have any less because wealth is created and destroyed daily.. there isn't a fixed size of pie, therefore you don't lose a thing when someone makes more than you do and you coveting them to either give it away or have it confiscated as tax is YOUR SIN, not theirs.

We know that Jesus placed great emphasis on helping the poor.

We know humans are greedy and selfish, therefore left to themselves they aren't going to give and care for the poor as much as they ought.

If our priority is to make sure we protect the poor and needy, why shouldn't taxation play a role in ensuring fairness in society?

That doesn't mean abolishing private property; that doesn't mean socialism or marxism. It means a capitalist society with progressive taxation.

As an aside, there are things government can do, which individuals are not able to. For example, things like food stamps for the poor, or provide universal healthcare. They require a scale that cannot be reached by private charity.

Jesus never recommended that the government take hard-earned money away from citizens for redistribution.

That is exactly what socialism does.

Sorry Frank Turek but this time your explanation is extremely watered down and you are bending the knee to the evil ones! Lukewarming your interpretations of the bible is extremely sad! Jesus came to this world to wage war on the evil doers, not pansy around and strattle lines!
