My brother once said, "I hate the 'Ball and Chain' expression because it's a false view of marriage. I'm not 'chained' by my wife. With my wife, I am more free, more open, and more vulnerable than I am with anybody else. She helps me be my best self." THAT is the view of marriage we should be presenting. Not limitation, but liberation to be our best selves. Another quote is from Karl of Austria Hungary, who on his wedding day said to his wife, "Now, we must help each other get to heaven." To put it another way, "Now, we must help each other become our best selves as God created us to be."

What happens when someone who feels like Lila, is FORCED to live otherwise?
What if feeling that way places a woman's life in danger?

Good conversation. I commented once to a family member that Christ on the cross is the greatest love story of all time and she replied with I think Romeo and Juliet is a great love story. It's very common for people to actively omit God from conversation. It's heartbreaking.

I’m a man in my early twenties and loved this conversation. In high school I started to question many things that were being pushed on us by our backwards culture like abortion, birth control for all women, etc. I’ve mostly avoided talking about it because I’m a white man and apparently that means I can’t have an opinion these days.

Interesting about abortion being pushed in middle/high school. But what about glorifying teenage pregnancy as well? Would have liked if you discussed that as well

I am so glad that I grew up in a traditional household. My dad worked and mom raised up. I have now carried on that tradition in my own marriage & family. I've been married almost 13 years and have 2 amazing boys. And I am a witness that this is a beautiful life.

This intelligence is so hot!!! Such a respectful and interesting deep conversation with perfect arguments. Candace you are my greatest idol 🤎🤎 We share so many similar experiences, basic values and attitudes. My goal is actually to be able to express my opinion as professionally as you do. You remind me every day why I'm working so hard on informing myself so much and always speak up & keep honest about my principles. 💫 You are a blessing 🤎🤎🤎🤎

Excuse me, but there is nothing wrong with being in a monogamous relationship and NOT being ready for children and taking birth control to prevent a child that I’m not ready for. Don’t make it sound like women are doing something wrong for wanting to wait to have a baby, but still wanting to be able to experience a sexual bond with their husband or long-term, monogamous partner. You waited until marriage; good for you, Lila. You don’t want to use contraception; good for you, Lila. Don’t put down choices that don’t match your own.

The more I listen to these, the more convinced that I become that transgender rights and sexual freedom is all about population control by making as many people as possible become sterile by their own choice. They don't KNOW that is the choice that they are making, but, that is the result of all of these choices.

Even the pre-sexual revolution feminism was insane. Betty Friedan and Simone DeBeauvoir was insane. These women were Marxists that wanted to destroy the homemaker role. I think the reason the Sexual Revolution is as prominent as it is now is because destroying traditional gender roles made women miserable and insecure. These feelings led to promiscuity.

I have been with my husband for 9 years. And married to him for 2 years. We have had sex outside of marriage and I did end up getting pregnant and that’s what made us get married. I wish it was in a different order. Since it does make sense to get married first then have sex and have kids. But some aren’t as lucky as me to land a man like my husband and to get married even if we did have sex out of wedlock. So I firmly believe that we should marry before having children or have sex. I did wish I waited cause I did lose my virginity to my first. So girls and boys listen to this. I am happy to say though I am happy in my relationship with my husband and very grateful for my children. Also we gave our lives to God and got baptised, and I am so happy to have God in our lives ❤️

I'm 16 and was brought up Christian so I think I've always had these views but I just could never articulate exactly why. Loved this, I wish more young people would watch this show. Lila's message at the end made me tear up. Thank you both so much!

Dear Candace, I’m just discovering your platform after your comments on George Floyd. I can now say I identify as conservative and it’s ironic because there is so much truth in your conversations that I actually feel liberated. How’s that for irony? For liberals to be trapped in false ideology and conservatives to be free in truth. It’s beautiful. Thank you for being the mouthpiece not just for your community but for POCs all over the world.

I had the idea that I was going to wait until I was married…then got a little older and I don't want to say peer pressure because nobody didn't pressure me but when you see the majority of people around you treating sex like no big deal then eventually you can go down that path of thinking its okay. And speaking of narcissists hit very close to home for me, I know it was reading abortions but they really are everywhere nowadays, I dated one for 2 and half years and it was the most stressful/depressing time of my life, we had great sex and looking back I think it was fooling me into believing we had a real connection, it was just lust and he knew how to be charming when he felt I was pulling away. It's been 2 years since and I have been celibate this whole time, not because of any spiritual or religious reason but there wasn't anyone worth it. NOW after watching this, I'm, consciously, going to save myself until I am in a relationship with someone who I know is worthy of being allowed into my body and we are committed to each other. Thank you for this video! It seems it has become normal to girls my age to hook up with someone new every week and I just knew in my heart it wasn't right but "society" made ME feel I was the crazy one.

Thank you, ladies! You both are so inspirational! I'm a 22-year-old female who is waiting until marriage. People who are on this path need more encouragement from women like you! I wish this was normalized in our media today.
