What Life in a Patrol Car Can Teach You About Spiritual Decision-Making

In this new iteration of the Cold-Case Christianity Podcast, Jimmy and J. Warner Wallace talk about how difficult it is to select a Romantic comedy and then examine the role that “identity” plays in decision-making. Do most young people decide something is true based on the evidence, and experience, or a desire to be identified with a movement or group? J. Warner and Jimmy Wallace discuss these issues in this episode of the NRBtv Cold-Case Christianity Broadcast.

Thank you for bringing today's challenges to Christians from perspectives of today's generation and the former generation.

based on what you said, Jimmy, which i happen to agree with, I now wonder about the "drift" in the language and the early church autographs that we have. Can we truly translate Scripture well? I suppose this is where God's promise that His Word will not return void to supernaturally promote valid translations today.

Great. 2 brothers in Christ having a meaningful conversation. Many of us Christians have no one to talk to and this new initiative is really helpful; our Lord said 2-3 people gathered in his name would blessed by His own company! I kind of feel like part of our common family watching these 2 Wallaces. Thanks

I am in the middle of y'alls perspective. I was born in the 90's, raised by a middle class baby boomer born in 1943 single father. My husband's parents were born in the 60's, so they are entirely different generation, and it seems to me that those of us who come to Christ based on apologetics are hungry for biblically based practices and churches as a push back to our Elders who didn't have access to the wealth of information, like y'all's resources, apologists, debates, online commentaries, etc. I was so shook by Paul Washer's shocking youth message and am enjoying Mike Winger's and Chris Roseborough's blunt but humble careful, scholarly handling of the text. Christianity is intellectual and because God created logic and good we can find him in all logical and good things. It's difficult now when critical thinking is not a skill that is valued, and feelings/entertainment are now the God. People do not sit down and wrestle with their own thoughts and have calm dialogues with others who have different perspectives.

Just remember, that every hour we spend watching worldly films – is an hour that we will never get back. I say this to myself as well as you. Surely, we have been saved from such worldliness? "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)
And, of course, every YouTube video as well!

In the UK. Gen Z are definitely interested in the evidence, maybe not all but some are. My brief story…wanted to believe but couldn’t as there was ‘no proof’. I prayed and asked for some and I came across Lee Strobel by complete accident. Devoured the book, watched ‘God’s not Dead 2’ and came across you. Completely blown away by the evidence. My Gen Z son needs that same proof and is now watching you on YouTube and wants to come to our church. Awesome huh?!

No, feelings rule this North American culture, rather than objective truth. Just look at all the people who identify themselves based on their feelings rather than what's objectively true.
