Have we moved past the idea of tolerance being the greatest virtue? Or has the greatest virtue of tolerance always been a misnomer? What could be more tolerant than beating a guy unconscious and writing “tolerance” on his face? Clearly, the best way to spread tolerance is to demand group think! Wait a minute, that doesn’t sound right. Check out what Frank, Kyle, and Ethan have to say about it! And check out the @The Babylon Bee podcast for more great content and Christian satire.

To beat someone up and then put the word tolerance all over his beating up face, is just pure evil!

The real underlying, cultural hot button issue of "tolerance" is actually about where we set the boundary of intolerance.

Every civilization, and every person really, has to be intolerant of something, some behavior or issue. Some things can't practically be tolerated for the sake of society adequately getting along. We have laws, courts, prisons, cops, and a military for good reason.

And historically, for US culture, when it comes to setting the boundary of intolerance conservative Christianity has, in contrast to their secular left, cultural competitors, been the less tolerant one. And so gets branded, "intolerant."

To point out that the branders are intolerant, too, is beside the point and obsessive over the shallow issue of a label. Notice how you didn't even get around to pointing out how reasonable it is to be intolerant of whatever you think shouldn't being tolerated. Because that's where your case is weak.

And everyone knows it. It is true that the cultural left, center and even much of religious culture is "done" with traditional conservative Christianity's anti-gay stance. You've very nearly entirely lost the culture war and people are about ready to treat you like the KKK and Nazis. No one really cares about your case against gay marriage anymore than we care about the Klan's case against "mixed" marriages.

You're in the process of being culturally displaced and you don't like the stigma of a label. Sorry, not sorry?

But yeah, you're right. Some of the left is overly intolerant, too. Sorry.

Tolerance? Love as Christ taught is based in tolerance. When metered through yourself first, tolerance is your perspective on understanding. Tolerance is a measure of wisdom in knowing Christ.

You guys realize true tolerance doesn’t exist right?

    2 + 2 = 4

How many of you will tolerate (accept, not correct, be okay with) if someone said that answer is 5?

Or how would a Christian tolerate abortion?

Or how would an atheist tolerate God’s existence?

True tolerance doesn’t exist, end of story

It depends by how you define tolerant.
I am tolerant of people who think differently from me
but I am not tolerant of people who try to force their beliefs on me.

As many labels you want to name someone, the best label for 2 types of people is "attention" and "survival".

They just want people to stop saying it's sinful. Well it is sinful so why should we lie? To protect your self pride? That would be disingenuous, not to mention unbiblical. As long as there are Christians in this world we will not just sit around and say sin is acceptable and a okay. Not going to happen.

Because they can't take responsibility for their own feelings and actions and hold everyone else responsible for everything they do.
There shouldn't be tolerance, just a means of escape.

How is tolerance a virtue? Speaking the truth is the virtue, "tolerance" is basically lying.

"Tolerance" sounds good at first, but once you think about it, it's pretty darn bad. I tolerate you. I put up with you. BIG SIGH A tolerance is a measure of variable that's acceptable, but get outside of that and the piece is scrapped. No, what's needed is some acceptance. But you Xtians aren't good at that one AT all. Yes, there are these delusional people who have been allowed to run rough-shod, parroting the social media talking points they've memorized to be in their tribe, but you guys slamming their intolerance is the pot calling the kettle hot. You wanna see some group-think, look in a mirror. Xtians used to be able to simply flambé heretics at the stake, but now that would be called a crime.

Because look where it has gotten us? WE forgot to condemn sin and call out evil. Instead we started putting up with it as long as it didnt affect us directly. We gave them an inch, and they took a yard. look where things are now.

I'm tired of Turek's "tolerate my intolerance" ideology. He's over here discriminating against people, and he expects people to tolerate it because everyone else claims to be peaceful. Avatar Aang was tolerant, but in the end, even he had to take Father Lord Ozai's bending away. And you know what? No one cried that he was being intolerant of the fire nation.

The "tolerant" left have been defining the word for the last 40 years, and are now at the point where they can now blatantly continue to define it however they feel, and do whatever they feel like, thus insuring THEY are the "tolerant" ones. It's always been "do as I say, not as I do" for the left!!

The biggest example is from the Gay community.

A homosexual will say, “If God is a truly loving God, then I can love who I want and it doesn’t matter.” But a homosexual really doesn’t believe that. They say that, but they don’t believe that. Because everyone draws the line somewhere. A lot of people draw the line at incestuous behavior or pedophilia behavior. Everybody has boundaries. The question is where are the boundaries? When people come to me and say, “well who are you to say…” I say I’m not. I’m not the moral arbiter of the universe. This is not my morality. I didn’t make it up. It just happens to be “THE MORALITY”.

On the other side, If someone tries to get me to do something I know I shouldn’t be doing, or they want my opinion on something I know is controversial and I know I’ll probably disagree with them, I ask them this question…. “Do you consider yourself a tolerant person?” They’ll probably say yes right? So if I express an opinion opposite of yours then you’ll tolerate it then, right? Because that’s what tolerance is. We may not agree but we’ll tolerate one another and respect one another. Because why is it that I have to agree with them, but they don’t have to agree with me? As a Christian, I love people regardless of their opinions and whether they agree with me or not. Christians hate the sin, not the sinner. BUT if a non Christian doesn’t agree with a Christian, they call Christians hateful and homophobic. Doesn’t seem fair does it?

The question I would ask the non-Christian is, “By what standard are you saying that what you are doing is good? Where is the non-Christian getting this standard from? Because if you are an atheist, then there is no standard. It’s just an non-Christians WILL they want to impose on a Christian. If the non-Christian says, “well it’s Love!” Then my question would be, “Who is the standard of love?” And what is the definition of love? Because love is not approving everything somebody wants to do.

Everyone who is a parent should know this. Anyone who is a former child should know this too. If your parent approves of everything you WANT to do, then that parent is not a loving parent. If you don’t stand in the way of evil, then you’re not loving. In fact Paul says, “Love always protects.” (1 COR 13:7) How do you protect people? You tell them what they are doing is going to hurt themselves and others and it’s against God’s will. This can also cause you a lot of consternation from the people who say they are fighting for tolerance, inclusion and diversity. I am going to be excluded by those people. But Jesus said this is what’s going to happen. They persecuted me and they’ll persecute you too.

So if you truly want to love them, tell them the truth, but also tell them there’s nothing they can do that will make you stop loving them. But love doesn’t mean I approve of everything they do. “Does love require approval?” If I ask someone who is a LGBTQ member if they love me? They would say yes, right? If I ask that same person if they approve of me and my position? They would say no, right? Then they just answered that question and lost the debate “Does love require approval?” Because if someone tries to say love requires approval, and you don’t approve of my position, then if you truly loved me you would have to agree with my position, according to a LGBTQ’s position. But you don’t agree with me. Love DOESN’T mean you APPROVE of everything. Love means that you PROTECT the loved one. That requires standing in the way of things that are going to hurt themselves and others. Particularly when God says the human body is designed a certain way for a reason. If you claim to be tolerant, then be tolerant toward anyone who disagrees with you to back that claim up. I stand for the truth, and that’s my choice.

REAL Liberals are still tolerant. LEFTISTS pretending to be liberals, hiding behind a liberal label have NEVER been tolerant. The issue is that people seem to think Leftists and Liberals are the same thing… they are not. People need to stop allowing Leftists to call themselves Liberals…
