Look at Russia and China if you want a example of Church joined with State. The people are forced to go to the state funded, one church.
These State run churches are void of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not talked about. If you have outside Bible studies, people are arrested for breaking the worship laws.
That's why most of their Christian citizens meet in secret places to study the Bible.

Frank, since you know Christianity is true, wouldn't you like to see a law that all parents must raise their children with Christian beliefs?

Hi Frank. We need to look at the examples of church state union of the past to know how dangerous this really is. Papal rule through church state union gave us the dark ages and millions of protestant martyrs. So as churches lobby civil government to legislate faith and dogmas we will have persecution of faith minorities and believe we are doing God's will. Beware we are not dismissive of this historical fact or we shall see its tyranny return…..

Legislating morality is not the problem. Nobody says "separation of church and state" when a theist is arguing against gay marriage or abortion. Only when theists try to teach creationism in schools, have religious figures displayed on government property, or deny atheists government offices because it's against state law. That's when we say "separation of church and state."

Why do we fight so adamantly against something we don't believe in? Well, how would you like the doctrine Islam being taught in schools, intertwined with politics and government? When your representatives must end each speech with "Allah bless America" and your dollar bills stamped with "In Muhammad We Trust." You wouldn't like that would you? Neither do we.

Turn all churches into libraries. Educate people on history of religion and how it was made up by superstitious people. Let clergy men find a real job and pay taxes instead of scamming the fools by pretending to represent an imaginary God.

I agree with the first half but you can't legislate morality. Just because it's a law doesn't mean evil doesn't exist. Anyone who believe getting the law on your side is what really matters is decieved. Get out and reach people for Christ.

Yes! I dont know why so many people misunderstand this. Did everyone forget that we had just come out of a WAR because we were being forced into a state religion? And that country TODAY still funds the Vatican off tax dollars?? The constitution says the government shall not FORCE any religion, nor shall they prohibit a religion. It's a one-directional wall to keep the government out of the church, not to keep the church put of the government. EVERY law is based on morality. 100% of them.
