Yes, Laws DO Change Hearts. The Law can help to change a culture and can be a great teacher.. Frank Turek examines human nature and the role of government in restraining bad behavior.

Please visit http://www.CrossExamined.org for more on Legislating Morality, and the notion of restraining evil rather than making people good.

This aged well, as we see exactly what sparing the rod and spoiling the child, so to speak, proves as far as escaping accountability.
Look at California. New York. Chicago. Tightest gun laws, yet the highest crime AND repeat offenders.

The laws don't change hearts. Effect behavior, of course, but the way a person feels about something, not happening.

Frank Turek: "We ought to do everything we can to keep marriages together."

Also Frank Turek: :::Opposes same-sex marriage:::

    Hypocrite!

Ronald Reagan was a Liberal in his early career, but he became more Conservative as he matured and gained wisdom.

The law cannot change hearts to the degree the Gospel can.
But i completely. I Agree with his last point, if mature christians r not involved in law making, godless ppl will gladly believe they r moral as long as they keep the laws. & the nation will tumble down hill even faster.

But at the same time, there needs to be separation bc good churches have fallen & stopped preaching sound doctrine in the name of appeasing secular culture.

John MacArthur said it plainly, that a church is to evangelize to nonbelievers & educate believers. This must happen simultaneously or we r not doing our job as Christians.

I love watching Frank teach and debate, but I disagree that laws change hearts. Laws change behavior, but not hearts. The Pharisees are a good example. Many people today wish others dead revealing laws to change a behavior (not taking action to kill) but not a heart (the desire to kill of have one killed).
